Interview
Go in to store, apply at a little kiosk in the middle of the store by the registers. Set up your time for a group interview. Then when its time for your interview you wait with all the other job seekers until a manager or assistant manager takes you to the interview will be held. They then ask you to answer questions such as "what does diversity mean to you" "if you could be any animal what would you be and why" "do you think that you are a people person" etc. They are looking for people who would fit a "party" atmosphere. So be outgoing but not in an annoying way.
Interview was basic asked about diversity. Asked me about situations that's happened to me before. Just be prepared and practice or research on Hollister interview questions.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hollister Co. (Toronto, ON) in May 2013
Interview
Hey guys! So i walked into a Hollister location and told them I'd like to apply for a job and if there is a manager I could speak to. The manager wasn't there but one of the floor models gave me a password to apply online. The online application was super simple and I was able to schedule an interview. Anyone who applies can attend an interview. I went to my group interview and there were 13 people there but we were divided between model and impact positions so there were about 8 being interviewed with me. The questions they asked included....
1) How have you gone out of your way to make people feel included
2) How have you gone out of your way to make people with different backgrounds feel accepted
3) How would you describe Hollister as a brand.
For this question its good to describe it relating to the words "casual luxury" because thats kinda their motto but dont use those exact words. I used words like laid back but high end, stays true to itself, versatile, beachy, california look, etc...
4) (I didn't get asked this but my sister and my friend both did and I hear its common) What is diversity and why is it important in the work place?
Make sure to speak up and sound confident but also be relaxed. As for how you should dress, I dressed super simple and casual and wore dark jeans, flip flops and a white shirt, because thats what we have to wear at work anyways. One girl wore a full pant suit and heels and just looked ridiculous because that is not their look!
I received a call later that week, they do their hiring on Fridays!
Good luck people!
