      HEO Presenting Officer Interview

      Oct 27, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I interviewed at Home Office (London, England)

      Interview

It was a presentation which I was given during the interview and then only 20 mins to prepare explain and justify my decisions whilst expected to research some sites they have provided as well as my own. Just was not enough time to soak it all in and process it. It's not a true reflection of the job or role as usually when presenting cases at court you have an idea of what the case is even if a new curve ball is thrown. This was a different scenario. I understand they want to see how quickly can you understand and present something but 20 mins on a big question is not enough time.

It was good very nice. I didn’t get the job but will apply again. I would benefit from more prep in what to expect. But all in all it was good and I wish I got the job

      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Home Office (Wembley, England) in Mar 2023

      Interview

Applied online, statement of suitability 700 words.. explain why your experience and stengths is suitable to the role using the job description. Interview was very nerve-racking.. the panel was very nice and knew how nervous we would be. Explained how the process would go at the start of the interview then sent me a word document with all the information to present, had 25mins to prep for presentation and 8 mins to present. I spoke for 6mins then they asked about 5 strength based questions. Then at the end i asked them questions and the interview was over. Overall was not as bad as i thought it would be. Waiting to see if i passed the interview or not.
