I applied online. The process took 9 months. I interviewed at Home Office (London, England)
Interview
Very easy interview based on competency based questions. Can take notes in and I actually used the same examples I put on my online questionnaire but elaborated on them which made the actual interviewing process less stressful. Remember that they have a score card so it is important to get to know the Civil Service competencies that are relevant to the job you are applying for and hit those key words and skills! The screening process has taken over 6 months though so be prepared to wait months after being given a provisional offer.
Fair, took around 30 mins, asked me to provide examples. Please remember to use the STAR method with providing examples. Had 2 individuals giving the interview both of whom were senior, location of interview was in Westminster only a few minutes walk from underground station.

Interview
Interview was online via an automated process. I actually preferred this interview method as I found it less intimidating than having a face to face interview. Overall I thought the interview process went well but getting the results afterwards took over 2 months
