I just want to ask a question: Are they really hiring? Or they just want to use the take home assignment to accumulate ideas for free. Based on these experience, I highly doubt that they are not really hiring. This is a very common trick used by some companies.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hopper (Lowell, MA) in Sep 2021
Interview
Kinda weird doing it thru whatsapp business. Didn't ask too many questions. Kind of vague. It seemed like it was a AI bot. I'm still not sure if it was. Left off saying they would message me back in 10-30 minutes. It's now been 2 hours.

Question 1
Why would I want to work for this company and why I would be a good fit.
We're sorry to hear this happened to you. We do not communicate with candidates via WhatsApp so the person you were in touch with is not affiliated with Hopper. All of our open positions are always listed on the Hopper Careers webpage and please be advised that our team will reach out via a Hopper email address.
I applied online. I interviewed at Hopper (Austin, TX) in Sep 2021
Interview
First, a recruiter call. Then a difficult online coding challenge. If you pass a reasonable amount of test cases, you move on to 1 hour technical interview via Google Meet. Mine was with one of the co-founders, who was smug and entitled. Not a good vibe...at all. If this is the caliber of people running the place, I refuse to work in this kind of environment. I believe he gave me two purposefully difficult questions in the span of 40 minutes to set me up for failure. Stay away from this company...they stand no chance with Expedia anyways.
