Interview

Interview day involved a group case interview and several individual interviews. In the group case interview, you work with a team to solve a business problem for a fictitious client, then present the strategy to IBM interviewers acting as "CEO" and other company leaders. Individual interviews were standard 'walk me through your resume' type of interviews.

Question 1

One interviewer had me stop in the middle of my answer so he could go out in the hall to take a phone call, then expected me to pick up right where I left off. Not sure if it was a behavioral test or just odd/rude, but I was able to remember where I needed to restart the answer.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IBM (Tampa, FL) in May 2011

Interview

Contacted by HR. 3 weeks later contacted by hiring manager. Three calls over 1 week with peers. Job offer sent in an email, all I had to do was acknowledge my acceptance. I was uncomfortable with this, as there was no signed agreement. However I received an email to attend Orientation with a plane ticket 3 days later, and was on-boarded in 1 week.
