I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at IBM (Vác) in Jan 2010
Interview
There were only a small number of interviews and I think the HR people were not quite prepared for interviewing the applicants. Eg. they did the professional interview while they were not IT people and lacked some basic knowledge of the field they were actually hiring people for. Also, when testing my English knowledge, I felt they were neither good at the language.

Question 1
System administration related questions that had nothing to do with the job description.
IBM interview process is inconsistent - some departments are very thorough, others ad-hoc. Departments that are doing a lot of hiring tend to have a well defined process, while those hiring for an occasional backfill may not be that good at assessing your skill, or even following up when they have reached a decision. You could find yourself interviewing with one manager only, or a manager and a developer (separately), or up to 5-6 interviews. Remember, the more interviews, the more thoroughly you are being assessed, which means an offer will be a good match. If you get an offer after just one interview, don't expect it to be the best job.

Question 1
In general you shouldn't look to past interviewer experience of questions asked during interviews, because every interviewer is looking for something different. Read the job description, figure out what key skills they are looking for, and brush up on those skills. Be prepared to explain why you want to work for their company and why you want to do the specific work they do. Even though most people just want a fun and well paying job, interviewers want validation that what they do is better than everyone else, so you have to toe the line and say you really want to do what they do.
