I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ING (Bellevue, WA) in Aug 2013
Interview
I initially applied online and was contacted the next day.
I attended a career preview with one of the managing partners, and then a follow up interview first with the same manager, and then the second manager a week later.
They'll ask you mostly about yourself, and your ability to network and connect with people. Past experience in finance is not required to get your foot in the door.
I had to create a marketing plan for the second interview that was looked at again at the third. In retrospect with what I learned on the job, it was laughably bad, but they do want to see how you think about the process and that you can produce polished materials. Read Book Yourself Solid in advance and make your plan off of that guide if you want to score bonus points, as it is the introductory book on marketing used by new hires.
I asked about how women and the young and unconnected succeeded in the field and I found the answers less than comforting.
