I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed in May 2021
Interview
1 hour screening phone call with HR. We discussed my background, what am I looking for in a company, salary expectations, etc. Was a very pleasant and relaxed conversation, HR told me they were impressed with my background and interested in my profile and if I was at any other process at the moment.
I was told I'd receive feedback in the following two days , a week passed and nothing so I reached out by email, another week passed and still noting. For a company with a mission of "helping people find jobs" it is very disappointing that you ghost candidates.

Applied online. The recruiter reached out to schedule an intro but rescheduled it 30 min before the interview. The new time worked for me so I could understand. We had a great screening call and he asked me to send him my availability to meet with the hiring manager. I emailed him that and then followed up with 2 more emails in the next 2 weeks. He never responded to any of the 3 emails. It was such a disappointing experience and I did not expect this from a company who's mission is to "help people get jobs".
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, and for having an initial chat with our recruiter.
A positive candidate experience is one of the biggest goals within our Talent Attraction team. We understand that searching for a job can be stressful and timeliness in responding to emails is important, especially if you’re actively searching for a job and interviewing with other companies. We’re sorry you did not have a positive experience; in order to keep improving, we’d like to find out more. We invite you to share more information and drop us an email at inside@indeed.com.
I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (New York, NY) in May 2021
Interview
Let me just say that I'm extremely disappointed with the overall process. I was genuinely excited for this opportunity but after the 3rd round of interviews... I definitely didn't want to work for a company that was this disorganized.
I'll start off by saying the interview process took well over a MONTH. I'm not really sure if that is the standard process for Indeed but WOW - I had to follow up with the recruiters again and again - just to even receive a response or an update on what the next steps were.
Phone screening and first interview went pretty well. Crickets for over a week after my 2nd interview follow up. So I followed up AGAIN and eventually received an e-mail to be interviewed by a panel of 4 people for 2 hours. The panel was so disorganized, only 2 out of the 4 actually knew why they were interviewing me and for what reason. One person didn't even know what an EA was, so most of my interview was explaining that to him. After this, I felt uneasy about working for the company since they allowed such disorganized people to interview me.
After the panel of interviews, I sent my follow up. Heard nothing for over 10 days. Because I figured that a 2 hour panel interview would have been the last steps, right? Nope. So, I sent an email on the 10th day of no response telling them that I had another job offer. I received an email back in which they stated that I had another interview scheduled, when I in fact.. did not. I asked them to double check and surprise surprise, nothing was scheduled. They clearly confused me with another candidate. So not only did they mess that up but there had to be ONE more interview after that disaster of a panel.
Just an overall unpleasant experience. I felt like a lot of my time was wasted while using my valuable PTO hours for a 2 hour interview to explain to your staff what my job title was.
Recruiters need to be more courteous and responsive. Also, please be more organized and on top of candidates. The fact I was actually confused with another candidate just really represented your company in a negative light.
Hi there, thanks for taking the time to write a review for us.
We are disappointed to hear that you had a negative experience with the overall interview process. We aim to select and assess candidates for our roles through a consistent interview process as we want to ensure we hire the right candidate for the role. Unfortunately, we aren’t always able to determine how long the hiring process will take, as this depends on the volume and type of role we’re hiring for.
We understand that interviews can be stressful and that sometimes it might take up a lot of time to prep and go through the interview process. We’re sorry you felt that the experience was disorganized and we really appreciate your feedback.
Your feedback will help us get better at refining our interview process. If you’d like to have a confidential chat, please send us an email at inside@indeed.com
Thanks again for your feedback.
