I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in Nov 2017
Interview
I applied through a recruiter, the process took one week. First connected via phone with recruiter, then scheduled for a 2 hour in person interview from 10-12, each in 30 minutes increments. Also, had a google hangout with amanager in Stamford, CT during this 2 hour interview process. The process was the best experience I have ever had. The team was AWESOME, I shadowed an employee felt very welcome by the entire team. I must say, my Recruiter was the best of the best. He kept me updated every step of the way. Communication was outstanding I give an A+. Once you get passed the two hour onsite interview ,recruiter will email link to do a written assessment. I was very pleased with the process, Indeed is one big happy family, and I am happy to become a new member of this family!
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed in Oct 2017
Interview
Applied online through their electronic application system. 4 weeks later I received an email wanting to set up a phone screening. I replied back to the talent inquisitor and confirmed interview time. TA never called for the phone screening. I emailed back asking if I had the correct time and if she was available to reschedule. She never responded. Three days later an update on the application website was posted stating I wasn't picked for the job. I would have loved to have interviewed and I understand that they hired someone else. However, lacking common decency and respect for applicants says a lot about the company. Being a former intern I was pretty shocked at the way the situation was handled. Loved being an inter but I don't plan on seeking further employment here again.

Interview
This automated phone screen is the most dreadful initial screen experience I've ever had with a few dozens of companies I interviewed with. When I responded to a question, the recorded message kept telling me "I'm sorry, I couldn't understand your answer, please try again." I tried at least 10 times, but the automated system would not let me proceed. I was stuck in the process. The service is not even functional, not to mention about creating a delightful and painless experience for the user. I advise the IT and UX department to take a close look at the issue and possibly fix it soon because it really damages Indeed's image as a recruiting service that claims to highly value technology and design.
