I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Portland, OR) in Mar 2016
Interview
Interview was easy. First a 45 minute phone interview, mostly HR questions asking about your research, any conflict with your peers, conflict with your boss. Then at the end of the call, he invited me for an onsite interview at Portland. Onsite interview was conducted with 10 different group leaders and a seminar. Everyone wanted to know about the tools that I handled in my PhD. Interviews lasted from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Troy, NY) in Sep 2015
Interview
Interview was at an on-campus recruiting event. It was casual with most of the focus on my PhD thesis. They asked some technical questions about design of experiment and troubleshooting semiconductor fabrication tools. They were very honest about the demands that a manufacturing position would entail. They also mentioned other possible positions not in manufacturing that would offer more of a work-life balance.

Interview
I applied online for the position of Process Engineer at Portland, Oregon. One of the managers called me to set up a phone interview and gave me a few time slots he was available. I chose the earliest one. The phone interview lasted about an hour and was fairly detailed. I was questioned on everything I had put on my resume along with some behavior-based questions.
