I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Johnson Controls in Mar 2011
Interview
The process took 3 months. My first interview was with HR and 3 months later I had another similar interview with HR as well. Few days later after the second interview, I had a phone interview with the branch manager, and then another one-to-one interview with him. The final interview was with the direct manager.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most questions were straightforward. None of them were challenging.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Johnson Controls in Jan 2011
Interview
I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter two months later, followed by a telephone interview with the hiring manager, followed by an in-person interview. All interviews were friendly and informal, meeting with several engineers and managers who gave an overview of the company and asked questions about my technical skills.

Question 1
One manager gave a specific electrochemical problem (one that is a focus of R&D) and asked my input. I found later that my answer to this was the reason I was hired,
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Johnson Controls
Interview
About 2 weeks after applying online, I had a phone interview(about 30 minutes). After 2 weeks of hearing nothing, I was contacted to schedule my on site Interview. There were 6, half hour interviews - some more laid back than others. I got the impression that they had already chosen me for the job, based off of my resume. Each person who interviewed me basically ran over my resume, as if to verify the information to make sure they had the right person.
Also, once I officially accepted, the background check process was TERRIBLE. A third party performs it and I basically had to do their job for them by providing all kinds of information and documents that they could not verify - very stressful and annoying. Others at my new job have confirmed similar difficulty with the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Not really any true interview questions, like "what are your weaknesses". Mostly questions regarding my prior work history and background.
