Interview
Applied online. Had to answer some situational scenario type questions and choose the best answer. About a week or later, I received an email inviting me to a face to face interview, which would take place the following week. The email stated the interview would take about 25 minutes and I would be interviewed by the store manager and/or an assistant manager.
The interview itself was very relaxed and casual. I was interviewed by the store manager (who was wearing a jersey, so as I said, very casual!) Although retail experience is not required, I got the impression it is definitely preferred/advantageous to have.
If you also don't live near the store, you will definitely need to have access to a car/lift that isn't public transport due to early starts (5am) and late finishes.

Interview
Long online test that I had to pass (29th July). On the 16th August I got a text asking me to call, where I then had a really simple phone interview just confirming availability and why I want to work for Lidl. 1:1 interview then confirmed in store for 20th August. The interview was with two managers, they were super friendly and comfortable to be around. Really normal interview questions like about my previous work experience and what skills I gained, they also liked me drawing experience from my degree and applying it to a work environment. They called a few hours later to let me know I'd got the job!
