      Sales Development Specialist Interview

      Dec 14, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Dublin, Dublin
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2014

      Interview

4 rounds: recruiter call, hiring manager call, case presentation and a final call with a Director in the US. The first two call with recruitment and the hiring manager are based on behavioral questions around your previous experience and examples of your life where you showed different skills: entrepreneurship, leadership, conflict management, sales pitch... The third round was a remote video presentation to two people (sales managers) on how you'd sell something and how you pitch. You are given a case with some info and you go from there. My advice here is to ask a lot of questions and get to the pain of the client, which is usually the goal of the call. And finally agree to a next step. Finally, there's a last round where you speak on the phone for around 20 min with a sales director in the US. This is very informal and if you've done everything else well you should already be in and this is just a formal last step.

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2018

      Interview

The interview process was pretty redundant. I went through 3 phone interviews and 90 minute on site interview. I was asked the exact same questions during each phone interview, one definitely could have been skipped. When asked during the 3rd interview why I enjoyed sales, I gave the same answer that I had during the previous two (which both of them had been very receptive to), and the 3rd one reacted completely different and he told me that was the reason I didn’t move forward.

      Interview

Extremely friendly interviewers, smooth process, many behavioral questions. In general a very interesting and enjoyable process, emphasis on open communication and cultural fit. It is important to show your interest both for the job and for the company as well as the industry and product.
