I am extremely disappointed with my recent candidate experience at LinkedIn. This organization was my dream company for years. Collectively, I put not only hours but months of work into my application process. I would like to think I did things that others would not be willing to do in order to set myself apart. After being brought onsite for a final interview, I never received a response back about the final hiring decision. My emails, calls, and LinkedIn messages were all ignored. For a company that claims to make talent its number one operating priority, this experience left an awful taste in my mouth. Finally, the recruiter gave me a call five days late to tell me they’d moved a different direction. When I requested feedback she told me that they decided I didn’t have the right experience. You’d think that would’ve been determined in the three prior interviews I’d done. At the end of the conversation the recruiter told me she would be willing to consider me for a different role. She told me to message her a week later for an update. As usual, I messaged: no response. I could not have done anything better to communicate my worth as a candidate and express my enthusiasm for the brand. I truly through this company would hold itself to a higher standard, especially since they are in the BUSINESS of talent acquisition.
