I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn in Nov 2017
Interview
A LinkedIn recruiter contacted me for the position and did a 20-25 minutes long phone screening. Then the recruiter setup a technical phone interview with a machine learning engineer from LinkedIn's Sunnyvale office.
The technical interview was quite challenging. The interviewer started with a self-introduction and continued with "tell me about yourself" type of questions. Next, I had 20 minutes coding problem regarding an algorithm development. Last, I got questions regarding explaining inner workings of a machine learning algorithm and case based questions regarding that algorithm (e.g., assume you have low accuracy in testing set ...).
While tried helping me in the process, I found the interviewer a bit disrespectful. A lot of times, my responses were interrupted. The recruiter, on the other hand, was really kind and positive. In the end, I didn't proceed with the next step.

Question 1
The coding question was about random number generators.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Sunnyvale, CA) in Nov 2016
Interview
The screening for relevance team is 60 minutes. Half an hour answering questions regarding machine learning questions. This could include any machine learning techniques or terms. They would start asking you to talk about one related project and as you describe it further, they want you to dig deeper into its technical aspects. From then on, a lot of random machine learning jargon come up and you better have much deeper knowledge about them than just the concept.
The second half an hour is a coding problem using the language of your choice. I found out preparing the LeetCode questions could be very helpful to answer such screening!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Talk about SVM, overfitting, classification methods?
Also, a coding question to use binary search in a sorted array!
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at LinkedIn in Aug 2016
Interview
The recruiter was great and checked in often. The interviewer was also very friendly. I got a call after submitting my resume to a database and we scheduled the phone interview for one or two days later.
