I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lloyds Banking Group (Edinburgh, Schottland) in Oct 2023
Interview
Very formal process: values interview then portfolio case study presentation, then an assignment (they gave you a choice between 2 assignments and a week in advance to prepare, and then you presented your research/ideas in 15-20min with about 30+ min for Q&A). It was all done in person at the Edinburgh office and everything took about 3+ hours with a bit of waiting time in between so occasionally you'd be able to chat to other candidates between rotations. Tasks had 2 interviewers each, and you will be alone in the room with them.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why is sustainability important for a company like Lloyds? Why is diversity and inclusion important? Assignment: How could banks use future technology and techniques, such as gamification? How can we help our customers plan for their financial futures, including retirement? Assignment choice 2: How would you describe ‘Inclusive Design’ and ‘Digital Accessibility’? Identify companies that do inclusive design well. What are they doing that separates them from others?
The online assessments are not too complicated so do not worry. If you have applied for other graduate schemes, the application process is quite similar. I'd recommend preparing and practising for the video interviews.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Lloyds Banking Group (Hyderabad) in Oct 2023
Interview
Received a call from WeAreAMS consultancy, where they processed my profile for a Senior Software Engineer role. The interview process consisted of: The first-round interview was an online assessment. The second round was scheduled for the Senior Software Engineer role with Karat. The third round was a managerial round, during which it became clear that they were not entirely certain about the specific type of engineer they wanted to hire. In the HR discussion during the initial call, they agreed to the discussed package. However, they did not provide an offer letter or ask for my salary slip. They also failed to update me on the status of their offer. Upon reaching out to them, they mentioned that they could offer the previously discussed amount. This experience left me with the impression that there may not be professional HR personnel at Lloyd Bank in Hyderabad. It seems like this consultancy, WeAreAMS, is simply wasting the time of both parties.

Question 1
Round 1: It was an online assessment on the Karat platform, consisting of two questions - one on strings and another on graphs. Round 2 included a technical interview with a Karat platform software engineer. I had to work on a system design problem, analyze the current system's flows, identify issues, and propose improvements One technical problem you need to solve. Round 3 was a behavioral round, which involved discussing challenges I have resolved. During the final offer discussion, it became evident that there was no professional HR representative involved in the process.
