In short: a mess
I applied for four roles with Lloyds.
At first, I applied for senior and mid-weight software engineering roles. I was interviewed for the senior role, but after my second interview was rejected because I didn't have enough experience as a 'lead'; the job description did not detail this. For the mid-weight role I was immediately rejected with no additional information.
I went back and tried for a Senior Fullstack role which was more aligned with my current skillset. The process took a while, but I was eventually invited to an assessment interview which would be marked by AI, I felt I did pretty well, but my application got rejected the day after.
My final chance, and I applied for a Frontend role only, something I know I can do, and really well.. Immediately I was moved to JavaScript role, because 'Frontend' was not something they offered, but essentially 'it would be the same thing'... I took my interview and was successful at this part! After this, I was ghosted by Lloyds, and didn't hear anything for two months (I chased)... Today I received an email to say that they will not take my application forward because: 1) the role doesn't exist (they moved me to it), 2) my salary expectation (which was towards the bottom of the banding for the role being advertised) and 3) commitment to skills-first approach (I was successful in the technical assessment, and had no other interviews - so not sure what they are on about)
