I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Lockheed Martin (Fort Worth, TX) in Oct 2019
Interview
I originally applied for several level 1 and 2 engineering positions. I had 6 years of aeronautic engineering experience, but did not have a degree. About a week later I got a call from a recruiter saying that she saw my resume and thought I was qualified for a higher level position. She forwarded my resume to the hiring manager regarding a "Lab Systems Engineer" opening and I received a call about three weeks later for a phone screen. About a week later I scheduled an in person interview with a manager as well as the team lead, and during this interview I realized that this was a level 4 Senior Systems Engineer requisition. We went through a battery of personality questions (Tell me about a time you solved a problem, etc) followed by a discussion of what the position entailed and my background. Next we covered a variety of systems engineering questions to gauge the depth of my knowledge. The process took about 90 minutes, and I was told I would hear something in two weeks. On the 14th day I called my recruiter and was informed I did not get the position, however the next day I got an email from the hiring manager saying that he wanted to open another requisition for a level 3 systems engineer and move me there. I agreed, a week later I got an offer, countered, and accepted the following day.
