Interview
Lowe's has a standard hiring procedure that they follow as other interviewees have stated. You apply on-line usually and they take a look at your application and the HR Manager calls you in for an interview. I applied for the Seasonal Cashier position and had two interviews on the same day with the HR Manager and then one of the Assistant Managers. I was called in a week later for the final interview with the Store Manager and he was very laid back and he asked me one question which was "Why should I hire you?" I was taken back by this a little because I rarely toot my own horn, but I did in this case and was hired on the spot!
My store is a brand new store entering their first spring and the people there are really great. I don't hperceive to have any kind of problems here and I really don't feel that I will be a seasonal employee for long. The culture differs from store-to-store I have been told and my co-workers are very friendly and like to have a good time while setting individual goals for themselves and they are all very supportive. I would say that it does take sometime getting use to the cement floors and that is something I my feet and body are still getting use to, but I feel like I could be at this store for a while before it is time for me to move from my hometown.
My final advice would be to study the questions that have been posted here and look at what Lowe's is doing in the community so you will know what the company is all about before your interview and this probably goes a long way with upper management.

Interview
I applied online on Tuesday received a call on Thursday to come in for an interview Friday. I arrived at the interview 15 mins early. The HR manager came out and handed me a paper to write down my availability. Then about 15 mins later she came back out and invited me in for the interview. She went over the postion and asked if i was still interested I said yes then She asked about 5 questions all "tell me a time when" behavioral type questions. The interview lasted 10 maybe 15 mins long. I prepared myself so it was pretty easy for me to answer. She then said I needed to interview with the Cashier's Manager who was currently off so I had to come back the today (Saturday). The Cashier's Manager asked again 5 questions all behavioral and easy customer service based. Then handed off to the store manager who was really nice. She first asked me to "tell me about yourself" then she asked 3 follow up questions. Overall a VERY easy and actually fun interview process. All the people I spoke with were really nice, very professional. The store manager advised me that I should hear something by Thursday. I think I did very well. So now i'm just waiting to hear something back from them on if I got the job or not. *crosses fingers*
