Question 1
Describe a time when your leaderships skills were tested? What was the outcome?
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Macy's (New York, NY) in Oct 2019
Interview
I applied for the program in July of 2019. I had my first interview in August of 2019. The first interview was a 30 minute phone call with the recruiter. This interview was basically just a behavioral interview ("tell me about a time when..") about my experience and why I was interested in the program. I had my second interview in September of 2019. This was a 30 minute video interview. This was with a different person than the first interview, and it was more in depth questions about my experience. They asked questions about my experience analyzing data, but also questions about how I would market a certain product. The last step of the process was an onsite visit in October of 2019. This was a 2-day interview process. The first night was just more to learn about Macy's and the history of the company and the culture. We also heard from a panel of merchants and a keynote speaker. The next day, there were 3 different rounds of the process: a retail math assessment, 2 one-on-one interviews (one with a merchant, and one with HR), and a case study that you compete with 3 other people. It was a very insightful weekend and helps you to get a sense for what it would be like to work at the company. They said to wait 2-3 weeks to hear back from them. I got my final offer about 2 and half weeks after the onsite interview.
