I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Macy's (Tukwila, WA) in Mar 2013
Interview
Applied online and completed a very long assessment. Within a few days, received an e-mail inviting me to schedule an interview through the website. On the day of interview, the interviewer was the Sales Manager of the second floor, and was friendly. I was asked all of the questions that others had shared about their interview experiences; however, there was one that I had not expected. The question was sort of like this: How would you prioritize in the following situation? "Your ringing up a customer's merchandise, the phone is ringing, another customer is awaiting at the counter to ask a question, another customer is waiting in line, and you need to do recovery of clothing."

Question 1
How would you prioritize occurrences in a particular scenario? (Read about the question in the "Hiring and Interview Process."
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Naples, FL) in May 2012
Interview
I only had to go through one interview and they hired me on the spot. They didn't ask any tricky questions. Their main concern was if I'd be willing to get people to sign up for their credit cards or not.

Question 1
They would ask a few scenarios and how you would handle them, mainly relating to how you would deal with your coworkers. For example, one of my questions was, "If you had a coworker that didn't agree with one of your views, how would you approach them about it?" I wasn't sure how this pertained to the job I was applying for, but I simply stated that I wouldn't approach them about the "issue" because we live in a country where we're able to have our own opinions and we have the freedom of speech. The manager interviewing me liked this response.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Beaverton, OR) in Feb 2013
Interview
I applied online and within a few days received an email to schedule an interview. Went in for the interview 2 days later. When I got there the receptionist was a little rude. But even though I was early the interviewer came out promptly to start the interview. She was nice if not very friendly. The interview questions were pretty basic. I let them know that I am looking for full time work and need to make at least 9/hour (in my current job I am making 10). The interviewer told me that everyone starts off at 8.83 unless you have like 15 years of experience in retail. Also they could only guarantee about 8 hours a week. She wanted me to interview with the head of one of a department but I didn't end up going to the second interview. It just wasn't for me. But if you have customer service experience then your should do fine.
