I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (London, England) in May 2011
Interview
an interview at a store that had too many staff so i moved to another store. not very organised. but the process is doesn't reflect the role. but if the demand is high the screening process is justified. i felt like the could loose some potentially good staff due to this.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer in Feb 2011

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (London Borough of Enfield, England) in Oct 2015
Interview
i applied online where you had to do two test one was a personality test and the other was a situational, which took rather long, more than 1 hour. very quick and easy process best i have experienced and they get back to you almost straight away takes a day. i passed this and had to book an appointment for interview which i did, i chose the earliest one. three days later im on my way to the interview. dressed fairly smart. my interview was late... i was expecting to do a roleplay and then 1 to 1 interview so i prepared. the lady who was very lovely then said that they do not do they roleplay process anymore as they feel it doesnt test people in the right way so i was happy all i had to do instead was follow around 2 different workers on the sales floor for was supposed to be 20 mins but was 30mins. you have to make sure to ask lots of questions!! which i did and spoke about the 4 i's (inspire, innovate, integrity and in-touch. im 18 so dont have much experience. anyway the 2 employees said they really liked me and were impressed by what i asked and spoke about for my age and said i was the best 18 yr old they had been with.. anyway got into the 1 to 1 interview and she started it off by saying "already hearing excellent feedback about you" which felt good. then she asked all the basic questions like why m&s and stuff like that what i was doing and studying at the moment that all went excellent. then............ where i went down hill haha, um they asked lots of questions about when i experience this and that like integrity when i inspiredd and used teamwork, i gave examples like i played for a sports team and from school because that is the only experience i have. i found this quite difficult to answer and felt really nervous and under pressure which i guess was the deal breaker. the lady told me at the end to write my number down on this sticky note for her and she even said to me she would call me this evening to let me know.. two weeks on no call :( oh well working somewhere else now hah. best of luck! make sure u prepare
