I applied online. I interviewed at Medtronic in Nov 2022
Interview
2 rounds, first technical with someone in the R&D department. They moved me to the supply quality engineer for the second round, where it was all behavioral. The first round I was asked to do a stoichometric question and a hard question involving the device their specific location works on (insulin monitoring devices).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I forget the specifics but the general gist: There is a protein in the blood that undergoes a reaction with oxygen that has a 1-1 ratio with insulin. The protein reacts with oxygen to make a biproduct that can be detected by our device. The issue is, there is approximately 100 times more mols of the protein than there is oxygen, so we aren't detecting all of it. How would you go about detecting all of the proteins in this case?
The interview was kind of short about five questions. Asked mostly questions around how you work with people and on projects. For example, if a project didn’t go your way what do you do?
Behavioral interview. Asked why I wanted to work at Medtronic. How have you dealt with conflict in a team? Got a sense they wanted a curious, self-starter personality. Opportunity to get full-time role if successful in internship position.
Had two interviews: one with general hiring manager and one with 3 members from my team. Most questions were behavioral based and I had one technical question. Questions were fairly simple and the interview process was straight forward.
