I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Microsoft (Amsterdam) in Nov 2019
Interview
First did a Skype Interview with an HR and second went to an assesment center day where I got 3 individual interviews with different managers and one group activity. I had applied for a data science internship and got a bit shocked at first when all the interview questions were about customer service. After 7 hours of interviews they told me that there wasn't any data position available without even apologizing for the waste of time.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Microsoft (Redmond, WA) in Feb 2020
Interview
The hiring process went well. Very helpful recruiters assisting you in being successful, and the everyone I communicated with was very welcoming and passionate about what they do. I was very nervous, but the interviewers gave any information they had about the internship and went from one in-person interview to the next, and were thoughtful enough to even think about breaks for coffee. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
