Something like 8 rounds of interviews, reference checks and then interview with the CEO. Ended up with the CEO asking completely different sets of questions compared to the previous 8 stakeholders, something like if I was able to set up external tools for other PMs as an Admin and gather information on a spreadsheet. Discarded with a, there wasn't enough depth in your solution, after building a multi year vision for THEIR own use case (very sneaky to use real world, personal use cases Miro) and having the buy in of all other senior stakeholders AND the person the role would report to. Not going to be surprised if that is what they actually end up building and just hire an analyst to set up spreadsheets :facepalm.
I am frustrated, but since I am a good PM - I have a suggestion for you: speak with everyone upfront and define what is the core problem to be solved and why you need a resource, rather than booking in round after round, not checking in with people, and everyone having a different opinion on what the role should be about. Basic 101 product management and less waste of time for potential candidates. Cheers
