I applied online. I interviewed at MuleSoft (San Francisco, CA) in May 2017
Interview
Phone screen with recruiter, phone interview with manager, onsite interview with exercise with four different people the role would interact with and then did a social lunch with two two members. Every single person asked about metrics that I had been measured against in the past.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us and whether this would be a mutual fit. One of the big things we look for when interviewing is the candidate's track record of success and areas where they've gone above and beyond throughout their body of work. A lot of times, that involves metrics of some kind so we can get the full picture. Hopefully you were able to have some meaningful conversations during your time with us!

Interview
What other negative reviews say about Mulesoft's interview process is true. Its a really bad, broken process. It was a very long process. Had a call with recruiter first and since interests matched, i was asked to take up their Karat interview.
Karat interview was the standard process that everyone else has mentioned about. I was asked about my background first and then was given 4 topics ( Web APIs, Networking/Security, Databases, Performance/testing) and asked to choose 2 topics on which i was asked further questions. This went well.
Then i was asked the standard matrix question that many have mentioned about. Finding rectangles of 1's surrounded by 0's. This went well as well and i was asked to come onsite.
The onsite consisted of 4 rounds. First one with Hiring manager which was behavioral, second was white boarding with en engineer whose questions were pretty vague and he didn't seem to understand what exactly he was expecting, third one was a coding exercise which i finished and fourth one was a behavioral with the head of engineering.
There was another final round with the chief product officer as well.
All the interviews went well and i was told an offer would be made soon and the recruiter was working on it. But then i get a last min call saying they have decided to not make an offer. The reasons given were very vague, something about the company being data driven so it was always looking to re-evaluate candidates. Then why go through the entire process in the first place? This company's interview process is broken really badly as pointed out by many others here in glassdoor and they are losing out on genuinely good and interested candidates because of that. This my first glass door review ever and the only reason i'm writing this is to make sure people know what they are getting into when interviewing with this company. They change their minds very often and have a very slow, fickle, annoying interview process.

Question 1
Finding rectangles of 1's surrounded by 0's in a matrix.
Thanks for your feedback, I am so sorry you felt we didn't communicate with you enough about the process and our reasoning. That isn't right, and it sounds like we have a lot to work on. I would be happy to provide you more information if you'd like to reach out to me directly. It's true we are very data driven, but it's not a reason to turn down a candidate without sufficient explanation, especially after taking so much time to interview with us.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MuleSoft in Jan 2017
Interview
Found the position on LinkedIn and applied. Never heard back, but called the former head of talent acquisition to see why I didn't hear anything. Finally heard from the recruiter and scheduled an interview. The recruiter was late for the interview, was really rude and raced through it. Didn't hear anything for a while and finally got word that the hiring manager decided to pass without an explanation.
I strongly believe that they are a very incompetent company riddled with politics -- definitely think I dodged a huge bullet.
I'm so sorry you feel this way! We do everything we can to get back to our applicants in a timely manner, and I apologize we didn't get back to you sooner. I know looking for a job is stressful, and I'm sorry it wasn't a fit here. We appreciate your time and wish you the best!
