I applied for this position in the San Francisco headquarters. The interview process was 4 phone screens and one day of on-site interviews with a presentation (of a project they had me work on). Interviews were mostly around cultural fit and my background in integration development. They also were interested in my motivations and why I was interested in joining the company. Finally they had questions around my familiarity with the product and its competitors.
For the presentation, I had one week to work on an MuleSoft integration and they gave me free reign on what I wanted to do. During the on-site portion, I had to present and demo this to my hiring manager (Customer Success Director) and architect. They were looking for what problem I was trying to solve and how I utilized the product to solve it.
Overall it was a very positive experience and I had a great time talking to each interviewer. In addition, the recruiter was awesome and honest about where we were in the process. He would call me personally to update me on the status instead of emailing, which made it very personable.

Question 1
What are some ways you would scale this integration to work with a high load?
The interview went smoothly. The questions focused on my ability to improve processes. Although I wasn't asked to come in for the in person interview, I think they did a great job being speedy with the process.
I honestly was surprised when I was contacted for an interview because it had been over a week since I applied for the position. When I was contacted by the recruiter, it sounded like he was using a speaker phone in a big room, so it was really hard to hear what he said. When I asked him to clarify a few questions because I honestly couldn't hear what he said, he sounded frustrated with me. At one point, I apparently didn't fully answer his question and he started asking me why I thought I could do this job since I haven't had this position before. His accusatory tone was shocking to me, and I was taken aback, especially since I had read how much MuleSoft cares about the interviewing process and finding the right people. I explained how I had relevant work experience, but the interviewer gave only cursory responses and showed no interest in talking to me further (which I found incredibly hypocritical when he later on acknowledged that he was hired as a recruiter at MuleSoft with no direct experience, let along experience in a recruiting position). I was very upset with my experience in the interviewing process with MuleSoft; I had expected a much higher level of professionalism and felt that I was dismissed from the very start.

Question 1
Briefly describe your work background from the school you chose to your most recent position.
Sounds like we had some connection issues! I'm sorry that came across as a lack of professionalism. I personally am committed to treating every candidate with the same amount of respect and professionalism, no matter the outcome, and I apologize if this did not come through in our conversation. Best of luck with your search!
