Interview
I applied for a part time role online a simple application process literally takes 10 minutes I uploaded my CV ticked a couple of questions and then received a call about 2 weeks later with a date for an interview. The interview lasted about half hour and the interview was very laid back. My interviewer was very helpful,. he started of asking about my availability and went through my CV asking me to explain my previous roles and why I'd chosen Primark. As well as this there's the scenarios and a little role play at the end. I will list all the questions below and I hope this really helps everyone who has an interview.
Tell me about yourself?
Why do you want to work for Primark?
What do you know about Primark?
How are your skills relevant to this role?
What would you do if a team member wasn't contributing to teamwork?
An example of when you had little time to work towards something how did you do it? (Prioritising, organising and multi tasking is important)
Scenario 1:
There is a lady wanting to try on a dress in the window, but it isn't in stock. What do you tell her?
I answered that I would find out if local stores had the item if not I would offer the customer alternatives by helping her look around the store.
Scenario 2:
A customer really needs to try on an item, but they're in a rush and there is a very long queue for the fitting rooms. What do you do?
I suggested that she can buy the outfit and try it on at home and if she isn't happy with the purchase she has the option of returning the item or exchanging it with Primark's 28 day return policy.
Role play:
You are serving a customer and on the receipt there's a chance for the customer to win £1000. Do a role play on how you would make the customer aware of this opportunity.
Although I felt the interview went great I didn't get the job as there was people more experienced than me in this sector, my advice would be just do loads of preparation and answer the scenarios as best as you can show them that your excellent at delivering exceptional customer service and that you have the ability to work in a busy pressurised environment, show them your passion and drive to work in retail and ask questions about further development. If you do this and be yourself you will definitely be successful. Overall the process is simple and fair all questions get rated.
Good Luck to you if you have an interview and are reading this I hope these questions help with your preparation.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Primark (Cardiff, Wales) in Jul 2015
Interview
I received an e-mail after a few days and the interview process was very easy and straightforward. He read from a list of questions. I remember questions like asking what you should do if a customer wanted something from you at the same time another thing fell on the floor (health and safety) and answering that you would address the customer and politely ask them to pardon you for a moment as you sort it out. Or a question about finding a dress for a customer and the right answer is definitely going to the stockroom and if you can't find it and it's not in any other stores, you look for a dress that's an alternative to the dress. It was all easy and they offered me a job on the spot.
