30 minute zoom interview , very laid back, talked with a member of the Systems Engineering team in my area. Most of the interview was spent answering my questions about the position.
If a candidate is not contacted by a recruiter and their application does not progress (e.g. Not Selected For This Position) the talent acquisition system should send a generic email informing the candidate of the outcome. Doing so would help eliminate candidate uncertainty and not require the candidate to log into their Dashboard to determine the outcome of the application.
I applied online. I interviewed at RTX (Arlington, VA) in Oct 2020
Interview
I initially applied through their website, and got an email from a hiring recruiter to schedule a virtual meeting. On the day of the meeting, no one showed up on Zoom and I was contacted 30 mins later to reschedule the meeting. I rescheduled on the same day and head my interview with the hiring manager. The interview was mainly about specifics on my resume and questions about my interests. The manager also explained the job in detail and what he expects from the candidates. I got the answer on the spot and discovered that I wasn't the ideal candidate for the job. The manager was brutally honest with me and proposed I apply to different positions within the company. No technical or STAR questions.
