I applied in-person. I interviewed at Semrush (Sankt Petersburg, ) in Mar 2014
Interview
Pretty simple, just a conversation with HR by phone and tech interview. Tech interview is also very simple, just questions about JavaScript, HTML, CSS and some frameworks like Backbone etc., nothing special there.
I applied online. I interviewed at Semrush (Philadelphia, PA)
Interview
Did a thorough vetting process in terms of situational questions (many, many, many situations questions). Russian management felt very cold; should have included more US employees in the process. Did not get a positive impression of how the Russian mothership would run the US office. Took over 2 months, despite being a "progressive fast moving company", although was transparent with next steps.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Semrush (Trevose, PA) in Jan 2015
Interview
I interviewed with the current position holder, future manager, and president. The whole process was smooth and fast with an offer coming the day after my interview. The initial offer was so low I laughed, but they came back with something much more reasonable.
