Interview
My hiring process started off normal but the job I applied to didn't meet my salary requirements so the recruiter reached out to a few others and I ended up talking with another hiring manager. Great conversation and it seemed like a perfect fit. They needed someone to handle a remote team and had experience in the stack to jump into code on occasion. I was asked to take a virtual coding session interview and I expressed my concern since I hadn't coded daily in a few years and I was rusty. The expectation for this position was said to be writing working code just to make sure I could. Fine, that expectation took into account that I would be rusty and I was ok with it. I set up the coding interview and created code that worked. I only had one test fail on the first try and fixed it. So the code I wrote worked in less than the length of the interview which met the expectations that were set. A few days later I get told I don't have the skills to do the job and they are going to keep looking. This is where it gets really interesting. I had a friend interviewing at the same time for a staff position and we discussed the solution. I was able to recreate my solution from memory and he said that was exactly what he did and passed. So to anyone looking to interview here, know that the interview process has not been perfected since the same solution passed for one and failed for another. It is unfortunate that the process has that much inconsistency, but maybe they will refine it in the future.

I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at ServiceTitan (Remote) in Dec 2022
Interview
Applied online. Heard from a recruiter a week or so later and set up an initial screen very quickly. Very professional and knowledgeable. Had my next call that same week with a hiring manager. Then they went silent. I emailed the recruiter a week later but heard nothing back. Moved on to looking at other opportunities then out of the blue a few weeks later a different recruiter reached out to schedule a final round. Did that interview and then they went silent again. Two weeks later I followed up to ask for an update. No response. Pinged the recruiter again a week later to see if she knew anything about expected timing since I was considering other options. Finally a different recruiter reached out to let me know they had hired someone else. Really seemed like a nice team and good opportunity, but the ghosting during the process was frustrating.
