Initial interview with the recruiter, written exercise, and then a phone conversation with the hiring manager - all went well, and I felt enthusiastic about it. Responses were relatively prompt. The interview was led chronologically, so I was asked my strengths and weaknesses about every job on my resume - including jobs from when I was working part time retail in college. No questions were asked about my approach or philosophy on customer experience or management, and the people leading the interview seemed more interested in old roles which weren't relevant to the job I was applying for. I got the impression that my rejection was largely based on culture incompatibility, and was actually relieved when a little over a week later the recruiter reached out to let me know I wasn't moving forward.
