I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Snap (London, England) in Sep 2020
Interview
Absolutely horrible experience - worse experience in my 20 y career. I was referred and recruiter contacted me very quickly. The conversation with recruiter took 1 hour, during this time she did not spend even 2 minutes describing the role (forget about trying to sell it). Recruiter was very nice but totally clueless, could not answer most of questions, was 100% focused on being able to "present" my profile to the hiring manager. There was no follow up at all.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Snap
Interview
Referral, Recruiter Interview, then Ghosted.... I checked the Jobs Portal just to make sure I had been rejected months later... Such a shame that a major company is willing to lack the follow through on a referral, but I guess that's the time we live in...

Tell me about your past experience in product marketing.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Snap
Interview
Recruiter had reached out to me after I'd applied about a month prior. I had told the recruiter I was in the process of accepting an offer but would hold off until after interviewing with them because Snap was my first choice, she was understanding at first and did her best to expedite the interview process. I interviewed with about 5 people virtually over the span of 3 weeks. Several interviews were rescheduled last minute and I found this frustrating as I had to take off from work to meet. I was also asked to complete a design task toward the end of the process. Overall the process was painfully long, and while most of the interviews seemed to go well and I had made it all the way to the final round, I heard nothing from the recruiter for about 2 weeks until I had to reach out twice (despite her knowing that I was putting off another offer to interview with them). The second time I reached out, she swiftly sent me a rejection email stating they had found someone else. I had wasted about a month interviewing and had turned down an offer that I regret in hindsight. Why allow someone to interview with so many people and give them a design task if it would just end in a rejection? Snap needs to be more mindful of peoples time, from scheduling to the amount of people you have to interview with. If someone isn't a good fit, don't make them interview with several people and have them complete a task for free. Overall, I was disappointed and after they had told me they found someone else, I saw the same job listing reposted-- salt on my wounds. I will not be interviewing for future openings.
