I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Lake Charles, LA) in Oct 2013
Interview
Applied online through the company website. About a week later received an email to expect a call from their automated system for pre-screening interview. There were a couple of yes or no automated questions then you are placed on hold to speak to an HR representative who asks a couple of typical interview questions regarding how you would handle certain situations and to tell them about your retail experience. During this time they are typing your responses.
After the final question I was offered a couple of date and time options to schedule an in person interview. I was unavailable for both of the available interview times and the rep told me that someone would call me soon to schedule an interview. Received email with number to call and was able to schedule interview for the following day through their automated system.
Interviewer was very nice and explained the position and interview process (very similar to the phone interview including same questions and she wrote down my responses to the questions.) Shortly after conclusion of interview was offered the position and asked to take drug test that same day.
