I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Dallas, TX) in Oct 2013
Interview
After submitting my resume online, I was sent an email telling me HD would call. I got a phone call from them, and an automated system asked pre-screen questions. After that, a live person got on the call for the phone interview. After that, I was invited to interview at a store. Although I was kept waiting over an hour (really? you couldn't have phoned me to let me know?), the manager was extremely pleasant. Then I interviewed with the department manager. Again, very pleasant. They gave me an offer (conditional on drug test and background check) that day.

Question 1
What would you do if you saw a fellow employee stealing?
The hiring and interview process went smoothly. Interviewed two times and was then offered the position. Hiring process was simple and moved at a moderate pace. People are nice and respond to questions in a quick manner. New hire orientation is very useful and provides a lot of useful information
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Charlotte, NC) in Mar 2010
Interview
In the initial interview, I was asked to compare The Home Depot with Lowes. I thought my answer would ruin my chance to work for HD, but instead they valued my honesty and I got the job. I said Lowes was cleaner, brighter lit, and more inviting. I said it was my impression that Lowes was geared more toward women and designers while Home Depot was focused more on contractors and didn't feel the need to be as neat and clean. They do focus very much on customer service with lots of questions about how I would handle various situations with customers including how I would deal with fellow employees if I saw them stealing or treating customers improperly.
