Question 1
Why do you think you are the best candidate for this job?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Goleta, CA) in May 2012
Interview
Apply online. Expect an HR call over the phone and then they will schedule you for an interview to a home depot from your area.
I first applied to a home depot closer to my house and i got an interview with them but told me my schedule or availability would not work for them so they denied me. A couple of weeks later i received a call from a home depot further away from my home and asked me if i was still interested in a job position and i said yes. So they schedule me for an interview for a week later. My interviewer was my future immediate supervisor, she was the front end supervisor in charged of all the head cashiers, cashiers and lot attendants. Surprisingly or fortunately she happened to be the same age as me at the time (20) so we clicked better. She told me that normally they would schedule for a last interview but she was in need of cashiers and she did not want to wait that much and that she liked what I had to offer from the interview we had. So we signed the paper work and all that legal crap. They scheduled me for a urine test that same day, waited another week for all that to process and i got the call back to start training, which btw the training is a pain in the butt! Sitting on computers for full 8 hours for at least three days if youre fast.

Question 1
This was only my second formal job interview so i didnt know what to expect, however i practiced a lot like nerd and was fully prepared. As a cashier show that you love costumer service and helping people (even if you dont). Tell them you are always positive and happy and kiss butt a little bit. Be ready to answer questions about costumer service scenarios (because they get their questions from a package for their interviews) so be ready for questions like: "what is costumer service for you?" what would you do if blah blah blah" do you research before and practice!
The process took 4 months. I interviewed at The Home Depot in Sep 2013
Interview
Every time I fill out an app, I get this weird automatic call followed by a few questions from a real person. On maybe the third time I got called in for an interview at the store via automatic call. She asked pretty much the same questions as the person on the phon and was very pleasant. It lasted maybe five minutes and then asked if I had any questions for her. I asked them smiled and really thought I showcased why I would be a good fit, but I was never called back.
