You will come in and meet with a assistant store manager about a week or two after you apply. You will discuss what you are trying to achieve at the depot. Also, your knowledge level of the department. Your desired pay. Then your schedule and how much you will work then you will be called and offered the job
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is your schedule? What do you know about this department? What are you looking to achieve from this role?
The interview is fairly easy, it consists of your basic interview questions for jobs like this. One of them was similar to "Tell me a time when you had overcome something."
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Edison, NJ) in Mar 2023
Interview
Never interview. Did an assessment online, started receiving job postings and I could accept it. I missed out on the first three offers because you have to watch your email like a hawk and respond almost immediately. Was then scheduled for paperwork with an asm who had no idea what there were doing and had to keep asking someone else. My availability was never discussed and I was told if I could work every Sunday there was no point doing my paperwork. They also had “shifts” with the posting and when I questioned those were guaranteed shifts or they changed weekly I was given attitude as well. I ended up accepting a position elsewhere that actually had an interview process.
