I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at The Johns Hopkins University (Buffalo, NY) in Feb 2022
Interview
I interviewed with 6 different team members in three different zoom calls. Everyone was very nice and polite and said great things about the work environment and culture. Since this is a position that many people are only in for 2-6 years before moving on to graduate school the environment is conducive to that.

I applied online. I interviewed at The Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD) in Oct 2025
Interview
- Applied for the position through online portal and Hiring manager emailed me to set up interviews a week later
- They provided me with their email and number to stay in contact which was delightful to have
- Had 1 online interview and 1 in-person interview with team (which i recommend since I met the PI). Great team and welcoming conversations.
- The processed lasted about 1 month and i received a call from HR with an offer. I was able to negotiate a $2000 salary adjustment
*note: If you are looking to negotiate, I recommend looking at the positions
Role/Level/Range on the job description then reviewing JHU's public FY salary ranges (easy to google). JHU WILL NOT pay you more than the midpoint range

Question 1
1. what are your careers aspirations
2. why do you want to work with us
3. why are you leaving your current role
My interview process was relatively straightforward. Mine was apparently not the norm and faster than others I met at the university but from application to paperwork was about three weeks. I had about 2 rounds of interviews. One was with HR and one was with the actual team I would be working with.

Question 1
They really wanted to know about my experience working in research studies and around not as engaged research groups and minorities. I had provided my undergraduate background as examples to when I had similar experiences and noted other educational milestones that aligned with what they were looking for.
