I applied online. I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Whitby, ON) in Jan 2025
Interview
Interview was on phone and then in person. System was used so you can select your own interview time and you got text message reminders which was really cool. Lots of options for what time you can choose and what day which is always difficult if you are working full time as well. The in person interview was 50% HR type questions and 50% technical questions. 3 people interviewed. 2 managers from hiring department and 1 HR rep.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Johannesburg) in Jan 2025
Interview
Went through 3 stages (screening, hiring managers interview, senior director interview) everyone was great and friendly but the offer was well below my ask. It was very disappointing since I made my salary expectations clear from the screening call. I had to decline however be sure to triple check that the recruiter gets your salary expectations down from the get go to avoid disappointment. The recruiter tried but the hiring managers couldnt do any better.
The interactions were really friendly and very approachable. Pity things didnt work out.
