I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at UBS (Singapur) in Jan 2013
Interview
Phone interview by HR which is pretty easy followed by another phone interview with the director within the function of interest
Assessment Center - Full day, pretty intense but not difficult, very friendly environment with informative assessors.

"A man wear a pink hat and pink suit walks in the room right now, what did he say and who is he looking for?"
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at UBS (London, England) in Oct 2013
Interview
3 steps process, first is online tests (numerical and logical tests). Second part is a phone interview with a mix of personality and fit questions, some technicals regarding investment. Third is assessment centre that lasts for approximately 6hours during a whole day, including one on one interviews, group exercise and case study.

Question 1
Please propose a merger between 2 companies (that makes sense).
Process was pretty standard for IB - online application with questions mostly related to why UBS and what you would bring. Interview was not very technical at all, all up there were only one or two technical questions. Interview was a friendly process.

Question 1
None of the questions were overly difficult or unexpected. Technical questions were about what you look for in an M&A and how you would value competing bids.
