The process took 3 days. I interviewed at UPS (Atlanta, GA) in Jan 2009
Interview
Go through a lot of skill test and if you pass you are giving a panel interview where they give you a sheet with questions on it and you are to present your answers to the panel once you are done with each. After it is over you go to another room and they discuss your answers and decide if you should move on to the next step in the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you handle an employee who is working for you who gets in a argument in front of a client with another employee?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UPS (Rancho Cordova, CA) in Mar 2008
Interview
Applied online after seeing a flyer for the position.
A large group of potential applicants were called to the facility to see an example of the work environment. At the end of the presentation, the manager had a very brief (1 min) interaction with the applicants.
After being called back, a very small group had to pass a drug/hearing/background check. We were also tested on safety rules.
After all I believe only two of us were offered a position.

Went into first part of interview with a group. We took a group tour of the hub. We then came back to the office and had 1:1 interviews. The big kicker was are you physically and mentally able to do this job. This Job is a foot in the door ground job that is great for college students. You can continue in union work or you can take the management route. Great benefits, hard work, decent pay.
