Interview was quick and you were a number. The recruiters are just there to do a job. The military is becoming more like a cooperation now so they will have to start acting like it. Overall, the military is a good job for security if that is what you are looking for.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at US Air Force (Sarasota, FL) in Nov 2011
Interview
You have to talk to a recruiter then take the ASVAB test. Depend on what your score is will tell you what job you will get. You have to have a high school education. The Air Force will hardly take GED's. If you have your BA you have the opportunity to go in as an officer.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at US Air Force (Oklahoma City, OK) in Jan 2014
Interview
Was called via Telephone from a 2-star General Officer and asked a few personal questions not appropriate for commercial asking (what do you think about coming to base X, how will your wife feel, do your children think they will like going to base x). It was followed by an in-person interview.
