Prior drug use - I was and am clean. However, they allow very little use.
I filled out an application when I was a Junior in high school, took an aptitude test, wrote a short essay, provided grades, activities, sports, etc. Notified I was selected for a 4 year ROTC engineering scholarship. Participated in AF ROTC classes and was commissioned a 2nd Lt.

Joining the Air Force involves contacting a recruiter, taking a few aptitude tests and going to the nearest MEPS center for physical/mental evaluation. After that, it's off to basic training, then individual technical schooling. During this whole time, they'll pick you apart, instill new, and probably better, values into you and re-build you into a better and more responsible person.
