Interview
You have to go through MEPs and then you have to go through a testing phase. If you make it through basic training, you're pretty much set. You then just have to make it through your technical training, then you are off to your first assignment.

Interview
The interview process is overly lengthy and intruding. Includes an intense physical examination, background checks and stacks on stacks of paperwork. You also have to deal with a recruiter that you may or may not trust with your life.
The AFPC process, when on time, is a 3 month process from application being sent to the hiring manager to selection. Depending on location, negotiations and onboarding can take one to six months. Be thorough in the resume in order to meet screening criteria.
