I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at US Air Force
Interview
You go to a recruiter and they screen you for some certain things (Have you taken drugs, is your face tattooed, etc). If you pass that, then you take the ASVAB. From there, your score, physical fitness, etc, qualify you for different jobs. You may select a job if one you want is available, or you can go in under an "open" category.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at US Air Force (Oklahoma City, OK)
Interview
They ask about drug use and medical history. Try and sell you on the mission and get you all amped. Talk about the benefits and how often you'll travel. Make all sorts of promises they cannot keep.
Phone Interview between the applicant and the hiring authority. Exec called and arranged date and time of interview. Process was smooth and very comfortable. This type of interview really was not much of a process as compared to the civilian sector. There really is not much to discuss here. The commander called, we talked for about an hour on the structure of the organization and why I wanted the job. Waited a week and found out I was hired.
