Interview
You visit a recruiter, and the recruiter signs you up. As long as you're physically able to do the duck walk, and weigh less than your maximum weight, you're almost guaranteed in. You will have to take the ASVAB and meet the minimum score for whatever job you want, but beyond that, it's extremely easy.

Talk to a recruiter and give them your high school / college transcripts, take a drug test, and get a physical screening. You can choose to be in the Delayed Entry Program, where you can wait to go to boot camp until you're ready instead of going right away.

Interview
Talked with a recruiter to decide if joining the Navy was what I wanted, got medically evaluated at MEPS so see if I was physically fit to be in the military, talked with a Chaplain to decide if I was right for the job. Went to MEPS and took my ASVAB as well.
