I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at US Navy (Columbia, SC) in Jun 2009
Interview
Recruiting process is standard throughout the military. US Navy is no different. ASVAB testing, in-processing including urinalysis, medical and dental screening are typical. Criminal background checks are also standard. Some variances in misdemeanors are waived depending on the nature of the offenses. Processing is conducted in large groups of 30 or more. Hope you aren't shy about being in your underwear with complete strangers.
I interviewed at US Navy (Washington, DC) in Apr 2010
Interview
Once already in the Navy there is not a formal interview process for a program management position in the Acquisition Community. There is a standard format for a written submission. The submission needs to detail all relevant experience, includes performance evaluations, and has some sections for discussion. A selection board meets to review the applications received and chose the best qualified candidate.

Question 1
It was all written, so plenty of time to think through answers.
