I applied online. I interviewed at VMware in May 2022
Interview
There was a medium level Hackerrank test.
It took weeks to schedule the hiring manager round. Interviewer would not join the interview.
Finally, interview was kept at late night. It was for Workspace ONE team.
The hiring manager consumed most of the interview time to talk about himself. It wasted a lot of time and rushed through the rest of the interview.
Questions were completely unclear and had to face poor interviewing skills.
Did not let me answer any question properly and kept jumping from one topic to other.
I am glad this round happened before other rounds as a manager who likes to talk more and listen less to a question he himself asked may become difficult to deal with later.
They scheduled next rounds but then cancelled.
Every company should keep HM rounds prior to coding rounds to get an idea of the work culture, so that candidates can make informed decision without wasting time. Even though the work aligned with my skills, it was better to look for better opportunities with a humble manager.

I applied online. I interviewed at VMware (Chennai) in Nov 2021
Interview
Had 3 rounds of technical interviews and a HR round. Initially I was very confused seeing many bad reviews on VMware's interview process and I had no idea to procced or not. To my surprise the process went so well and in 3 weeks span I had all 4 rounds and got offer in another 1 week. Overall good experience with the interview process and the interview quality was very high.
