The interview process for the Junior QA Engineer position at Veeam spanned approximately one and a half months and was thoughtfully structured into three main stages, each designed to assess both technical knowledge and analytical thinking in a supportive environment.
First Interview – Online Test & In-Depth Discussion
The journey began with a one-hour online test, followed by a detailed discussion with a QA Team Leader. During this conversation, I was asked about Linux and Windows system administration, and also to design test cases for specific scenarios.
Take-Home Assignment – Practical Networking Task
After progressing through the first round, I received a take-home task focused on testing the behavior of DHCP and DNS servers. I was given ample time and resources to prepare, allowing me to tackle the task thoroughly and confidently.
Second Interview – Technical Networking Focus
The next stage was a one-hour technical interview, primarily covering DNS, DHCP, and subnetting. This round built upon the take-home task, delving deeper into the underlying protocols and configurations.
Final Interview – Panel with Team Leaders
The final round was a two-hour panel interview with three QA Team Leaders. It revisited previous topics, including Linux/Windows administration, DNS, DHCP, and subnetting, and also featured brain teasers and basic math questions to evaluate my problem-solving process. Just like in the first interview, I was again asked to design test cases for specific features and edge cases.
Throughout the process, communication with HR was excellent — they remained in regular contact via email, responding promptly to any questions and ensuring a smooth experience. What stood out most was the friendly and relaxed atmosphere created by the QA Team Leaders during the interviews. Their approach helped me feel at ease and allowed me to perform at my best without unnecessary stress.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Veeam Software (Lissabon, Lissabon) in Nov 2024
Interview
It was a 1 and a half month process with 4 stages. First an online test and interview as previously stated in other reviews. Then a "take home" assignment to write a bug report on a provided application. The third stage is a 1h interview on network related topics like DNS and DHCP as previously stated here. Lastly, a 2h interview with 3 team leaders on those same topics but also questions to analyse your thinking process, like brain teasers, and simple math questions.
Overall all communication was very helpful and the staff was nice. The scheduling of interviews was convenient and while the interviews are not easy, preparation with the information available here and also with the instructions provided by staff goes a long way.
