Interview
I applied online, interviewed at Putney London UK and the process took 2 days. 1day for applying online and another day for when the group assessment takes place which was a week from the application date.
Group assessment consisted of matching food items to customers based on the customers requirements which were things like 'i love to cook', 'i dont like cooking', 'im cooking for 8 people'. Then you had to say why you have recommended the item, how you would sell the item to the customer and what other items you could suggest for them. Fairly easy task, you're marked on what you say so make sure you speak up. It was just me and two over people plus one assessor so it wasnt very nerve wracking.
After this you go for a 1-1 interview with the assessor who asks you the usual competency questions that begin with 'tell me about a time when'. Interview lasts about 10mins.
Overall it was a good experience even though I was rejected. I live about 1hour 30 away from the store while another candidate was a local so im sure that played a part in the assessors decision. I received an email telling me I wasnt successful about 4 hours after the interview which was good as I wasnt kept waiting and can continue my hunt for a job elsewhere.
Tell me about a time when:
-You came up with an idea
-You were told to do something differently
-You made a mistake at work and what did you learn from it
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Waitrose (London, England) in Jul 2016
Interview
I applied online and filled out an application form with standard questions such as why do you want to work for Waitrose, and questions on experience and skills etc. I then completed an online situational judgement test. I then received email the next day inviting me to interview. Attended a group interview and a one-on-one interview. Personally, I didn't feel the group interview was a good way to evaluate people's skills as dominant personalities completely took over making it difficult for others to be heard.

Question 1
How can you make the customers experience/expectations better?
To be honest, most questions that were asked were mainly behavioural questions, no room to self explain who you are.
